What is The Pensions Regulator and what are its responsibilities and strategic priorities?
The Pensions Regulator is responsible for regulating, and ultimately protecting, work-based pension schemes in the UK. These include defined benefit, master trusts or broader defined contribution schemes and public service pension schemes. They are also responsible for ensuring that employers comply with their automatic enrolment duties.
In this course you will learn about the statutory objectives, the responsibilities and the five strategic priorities of The Pensions Regulator, including that it embraces innovation and delivers bond and effective regulation. You will also find out about its climate change strategy to get to net zero in 2030. You will then hear about its regulatory approach to supervision and enforcement. Finally, you will meet some of the key personnel and understand their roles and responsibilities.
Learners will be assessed on their knowledge and understanding through a test at the end of the course.
