Using Elearning to Reach Global Audience

8th April 2013

A recent press release: “Using elearning to reach a global audience” outlined how our elearning services and products support higher education institutions, in relation to our ongoing work with Anglia Ruskin University.

  • Anglia Ruskin University partners with Marshall ACM to develop the University’s first accredited e-learning courses for the health sector
  • Embedding e-learning in the university curriculum
  • All development fees recovered by corporate sponsorship
  • Ongoing support outsourced to Marshall ACM to keep the project lean and profitable

UK Universities now want to reach a global audience?? there are many ways to do this but perhaps the most underdeveloped method has been the adoption of e-learning.

Whilst UK Higher Education Institutions may use virtual learning environments such as Moodle or Blackboard for tutors to post course lecture notes for students. Few compared to US institutions have ever invested in corporate standard delivery of e-learning to reach students both domestically and internationally.

Anglia Ruskin University has been using Marshall ACM e-learning for their staff training for over five years. Alan Turner, the University’s business development manager, saw the opportunity to take this methodology that had proved so successful for staff training and embed it within elements of the university curriculum. Our initial pilot project on Decontamination of Medical Devices for the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education has been so successful that we have now commissioned a series of further e-learning projects, says Alan Turner.

Corporate sponsorship of the courses through industry means that Anglia Ruskin University is able to recoup the development costs and Marshall ACM has created a Learning Management System to enable the University to monitor, report and deploy the e-learning to any location around the world.

The e-learning courses are accredited by Anglia Ruskin University and are now successfully deployed to students, the NHS and international health services.
