How Unconscious Bias affects who we choose as leaders
This is the first of a series of 4 videos about Unconscious Bias and how it impacts on our daily working lives. In this video we consider a scenario that allows us to explore the ways that Unconscious Bias can affect who we choose as leaders.
The video considers a diverse team of medical professionals working on an oncology project in London, headed up by Nita. The video takes us through the three key people in Nitas’ team: Carlos, Padma and Louise, in particular the way they behave in meetings and their educational background, and how this impacts on Nita’s opinion of who would make the best leader.
This video could be used in a classroom setting to discuss the implications that Nita’s views of her colleagues could have on their long-term prospects.
