This course is designed for staff working in Higher Education, who are seeking guidance and support when it comes to interacting with international students. As the number of international students continues to grow, university staff have raised numerous questions about cultural differences and communication barriers. The program aims to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the concept of culture and its importance within the university.
- Apply their understanding of how culture shapes our experiences and relationships.
- List the benefits of demonstrating culturally-competent attitudes and behaviours.
- Explain the challenges of cross-cultural communication.
- Apply practical strategies for working/studying in a multicultural environment.
Course Duration
This course takes about 30 minutes to complete. Learners have the option to bookmark progress and complete the course in chunks.
