Supporting students to optimise internet use & reduce risk

As technology becomes an essential part of our daily lives and a vital tool in education, it is increasingly important to learn how to keep ourselves safe and to ensure that students have the tools and understanding to get the most out of using the internet, whilst avoiding all potential risks.

This new course, aimed at students, equips them with the tools and understanding to get the most out of using the internet whilst avoiding potential risks.

This newly developed course in E-Safety uses a range of interactive and thought provoking exercises and case studies. While promoting the benefits of responsible internet use, the topics raise awareness on key areas of internet safety, highlighting aspects such as phishing and safeguarding on social networking sites and providing a strong framework for linking in to internal policies and key procedures on reporting.

Your learning outcomes

This course will ensure your students can:

• Understand what is meant by e-safety, and why it is important.
• Describe the four key areas in which e-safety is crucial: contact, content, commerce and conduct.
• Be aware of in-house e-safety policies and support networks.
• Explain and put into practice the safe use of social networking site.

Course duration: 40 minutes
Students have the option to bookmark progress and complete the course in chunks.
